[Stripes-dev] [JIRA] Created: (STS-284) Robustness and Reusability improvements to Stripes' class scanning utility

JIRA jira@mc4j.org
Robustness and Reusability improvements to Stripes' class scanning utility
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: STS-284
                 URL: http://mc4j.org/jira/browse/STS-284
             Project: Stripes
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Tim Fennell
         Assigned To: Tim Fennell
             Fix For: Release 1.5

The class scanning utility that is used in Stripes can be made more robust by using the ClassLoader.getResouces() method instead of attempting to cast the ClassLoader to a URLClassLoader in order to call getUrls().  This should make it less complicated, work in many more environments and probably less confusing to new users!

Also, it would be an easy win to make the utility a bit more generic to allow searching for arbitrary classes, not just those than extend/implement a specific class.
